Corona Virus Information

Now that we are in the fall season and winter is approaching, Foresight Family Physicians would like to provide updated guidelines to our patients regarding COVID 19 as to when you should call us for advice or seek medical care. In the past weeks, the number of COVID cases has risen in Mesa County. The following are clinical features to watch for per the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and should prompt a phone call to our office to discuss more:

• Feeling feverish
• Having chills,
• Temperature of 100.4 F or greater,
• Loss of taste, loss of smell,
• New or unexplained persistent cough,
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Vomiting, Diarrhea
• Exposure to someone with a confirmed COVID positive test
• Fatigue
• Muscle Aches, headaches
• Sore throat

• Any patient who has any of these symptoms and a chronic medical condition such as a chronic lung disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, weakened immune system, dialysis, cirrhosis of the liver, extreme obesity or pregnancy, live in a nursing home or assisted living, or work in a healthcare facility

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms like a cough, fever or respiratory problems, call us at Foresight Family Physicians. Please do NOT come to our office or go to the emergency room. We also recommend the following to help reduce spread of COVID-19 and all other respiratory viruses:

Wear a mask
Practice social distancing which means staying at least 6 feet apart from people who you do not share a household with
Clean your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds and/or use alcohol based hand scrub
Avoid close contact with someone with cold or flu-like symptoms
Avoid non-essential travel
Quarantine yourself if you have been exposed to COVID
Stay home if you are sick
Keep children out of school if they are ill
Get an annual flu shot
Stay away from people who are ill, especially if you are aged 60 or older, have underlying chronic health conditions or if you are pregnant
